Las Playitas
Las Playitas is a fishing town that has opened itself up little by little to tourism, without losing the tranquillity and charm that characterise most of the towns on the island. It is on the coast in Tuineje, in the south of Fuerteventura.
Accommodation
Las Playitas has a fantastic hotel and various apartments for those looking for somewhere quiet in Fuerteventura, away from the main tourist crowds.
Places of interest
Its narrow streets, its restaurants…everything in this coastal town is a haven of beauty, which becomes even clearer when you go up the stairs leading to the upper part of the town. This is where you’ll find a postcard picture where the small houses, the port and its boats, the beach, the main avenue, and the sea disappearing into the horizon take centre stage.
Also, this is where you’ll find one of the island’s best golf courses. An 18-hole course, which is fair but interesting, and contrasts with the volcanic surroundings that are characteristic of Fuerteventura.
Close to Las Playitas you’ll find the La Entallada Lighthouse, which is one of the landmarks of Tuineje and the closest point on Fuerteventura to continental Africa. It also has a gorgeous mirador with great views.
The beach cannot be forgotten either. It is a small dark sand beach that goes along the full length of the town.
Restaurants
A stroll along its seafront avenue, with its small fishing boats crowded together and its many restaurants, offers a unique evening on the shores of the Atlantic. You can gaze at the horizon as it seduces your eye and enjoy the relaxation and simple beauty offered by the town. All this is a pleasure that you should not miss.
