Tuineje is a municipality on the south-eastern coast of Fuerteventura, where you’ll find towns like Gran Tarajal, Las Playitas and Tarjalejo, which are small towns with maritime heritage.
This corner of the island is fairly calm, with high quality hotels but away from the mass tourism in the rest of the island. It also has some great options for countryside accommodation in its beautiful inland villages.
Its beaches go against the current, so while beaches in the rest of the island tend to be golden sands, this area is renowned for its dark sand. The weather, however, follows the norm and stays consistent all year around, with an average of 21°C.
