Aguila Beach
Remote and quiet beach on the west coast of Fuerteventura
Aguila Beach (Playa del Águila), also known as Playa de las Escaleras (Stairs Beach) due to the unique stairs that you take to reach it, is a remote and quiet beach on the west coast of Fuerteventura, in the north of the island.
It is a changeable beach that depends on the tides. At low tide, the beach shows a spectacular and wide esplanade of golden sand, but at high tide, the sea hides most of the sand, leaving a narrow stretch of sand and losing much of its charm. However, whether at high or low tide, the waves are never gentle.
You can reach it through a dirt road starting from the south of El Cotillo.
