Tetir is a small, tranquil village with a rural feel, where the calm is only broken by the few tourists and visitors who come to get to know it.

It is in the centre of Fuerteventura, within a valley and at the foot of the hills, offering a unique postcard view of the island. It belongs to the Puerto del Rosario municipality and is one of the most popular villages in the area.

Highlights of Tetir include:

  • Iglesia de Santo Domingo de Guzmán. This is the main Catholic church in the village. Its construction dates from the 18th century.
  • Tetir Artisan Market. An artisan market where you’ll find different handmade products from local makers, like ceramics and Canarian lace, as well as typical food products from the island. All this happens with an atmosphere of true Canarian folklore. It is very popular, especially with locals.
  • Ermita de San Andrés. A small religious building that has stood since the mid-17th century, found in the outskirts of the village in an area known as the Valle de la Sargenta.
