Not to mention the idyllic beaches surrounding it, known as <em><strong>Grandes Playas<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Not far from Corralejo, you can see the small <strong>Lobos Island<\/strong> and the south coast of <a href=\"https:\/\/golanzarote.org\/en\/\">Lanzarote<\/a>. It is a magical sight, but you can go further. Corralejo\u2019s beaches are clustered on the east side of the island, within the Sand Dunes of Corralejo\u00a0Natural Park, and are known as <em>Grandes Playas<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grandes Playas<\/strong> are a series of idyllic white-sand beaches with turquoise waters, that are unspoilt and in many areas, very quiet. As a result, if you\u2019re looking for peace and quiet you can enjoy them in near solitude. Meanwhile, other parts can be more crowded. This is the variety that you can find within Corralejo\u2019s charm.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps not as spectacular as the aforementioned, but the <strong>Muelle Chico<\/strong> beach can\u2019t be left out: urban, small and located in the heart of Corralejo, surrounded by bars, restaurants, and a large shopping and leisure area.<\/p>\n<h2>Activities<\/h2>\n<p>As it is in a coastal area you can\u2019t miss the great offering of water sports. You can find different areas surrounding Corralejo where people of all levels can try <strong>surfing<\/strong>, <strong>windsurfing<\/strong>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s more, the north of Fuerteventura probably has the clearest waters on the whole island, making it ideal for <strong>snorkelling<\/strong>. In terms of diving, there are several interesting spots in the stretch separating Fuerteventura from Lobos Island.<\/p>\n<h2>Near Corralejo<\/h2>\n<p>Corralejo is found in the La Oliva region, which is rich in history, culture, and natural monuments. Beyond the sun and beach, you can visit one of the symbols of Canarian architecture \u2013 la <em>Casa de Los Coroneles<\/em>, one of the oldest residences in the Canary Islands, that was the home of the military leader who controlled the island in the 18th century. The house has now been converted into a cultural centre.<\/p>\n<p>The Church of Our Lady of the Candelaria (<em>Iglesia de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Candelaria<\/em>) constitutes another architectural landmar.
