It is one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gofuerteventura.com\/en\/best-beaches-in-fuerteventura\/\"><strong>most popular beaches<\/strong><\/a> on the island, and with good reason \u2013 its kilometres of sand and crystal-clear waters make it a little slice of paradise.<\/p><div id=\"gofue-372104405\" class=\"gofue-content gofue-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-0088719563045673\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0088719563045673\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"7246810020\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>It is a beach so long that it could be said to be several beaches within one. In fact, Sotavento is normally thought of as five separate areas: La Barca, Risco del Paso, Mirador, Malnombre and Los Canarios. All its areas are great, ideal for families, groups of friends, couples, and whoever wishes to discover them.<\/p>\n<p>Sotavento is so large that you\u2019ll never find it overcrowded, and at some spots, you might even find yourself completely alone. In some areas, the water is very shallow, and you\u2019ll have to walk a long way out for your feet to be off the ground.<\/p>\n<h2>Food and Drink<\/h2>\n<p>If you wish to spend the day in Sotavento, it&#8217;s best to bring your own food. The only places that you\u2019ll find food and drink kiosks in the area are in the town of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gofuerteventura.com\/en\/explore\/costa-calma\/\">Costa Calma<\/a><\/strong>, at the north of the beach, and in the area of <strong>Risco del Paso<\/strong>, in the south of the beach. This is where you\u2019ll also find a lot of people taking part in water sports.<\/p>\n<h2>Water sports<\/h2>\n<p>Solavento has always been a popular spot for all kinds of water sports. In the high season (April \u2013 September), some areas can even be overcrowded with water sports enthusiasts. Throughout most of Sotavento, the wind blows all day, which makes <strong>kitesurfing<\/strong>, <strong>windsurfing<\/strong> and <strong>surfing<\/strong> especially popular. Several clubs provide equipment hire along the beach, as well as schools that offer introductory classes for beginners.<\/p>\n<p>The clarity of its waters and its clarity in certain areas make Sotavento a good place for <strong>snorkelling<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>How to get there<\/h2>\n<p>You can get there by car, via roads with unpaved sections.
