This is the <strong>Dunas de Corralejo<\/strong>\u00a0(<em>Sand Dunes of Corralejo<\/em>), with around 2500 hectares of desert that rests on an area overlooking heavenly beaches.<\/p><div id=\"gofue-3397838011\" class=\"gofue-content gofue-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-0088719563045673\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0088719563045673\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"7246810020\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>They are located in the north of <a href=\"https:\/\/gofuerteventura.com\/en\/\">Fuerteventura<\/a>, near to the town of <strong>Corralejo<\/strong>, and span a large part of the island\u2019s east coast. They are a symbol of Fuerteventura and somewhere to be proud of, and as soon as you visit them you will understand why.<\/p>\n<p>Walking with no set direction through this untouched landscape, whether through its sea of sand or along its sensational shoreline is a wonderful experience. There is nothing better in Fuerteventura than trying in vain to reach a horizon in a place where silence and solitude are only broken by the birds that roam the area.<\/p>\n<p>Its main downside? The wind. This characteristic is something that has been capitalised on since the end of the 1980s through the fantastic <strong>Festival de Cometas<\/strong> (<em>Kite Festival<\/em>). It is usually celebrated at the start of November. If you are on the island, don\u2019t miss out \u2013 the show is unique.<\/p>\n<h2>A dreamy shoreline<\/h2>\n<p>Las Dunas de Corralejo lead onto the east coast of Fuerteventura, resulting in one of the most impressive shorelines in the Canary Islands.
